The strategy adopted to minimize climate change leads to the creation of green curtains:

  • increase shading on horizontal and vertical surfaces,
  • facilitate outdoor teaching
  • put very young people in a position to learn about natural cycles and become adults who are conscious and sustainable in their choices in the future,
  • also through a recovery of the memories of previous generations by interviewing parents and grandparents.

PERCHÈ

La metodologia

Studiare l’educazione ambientale, la prevenzione e l’adattamento ai cambiamenti climatici è di vitale importanza in un’epoca in cui il nostro pianeta affronta sfide ambientali sempre più gravi.

Utilizzare metodologie partecipative appliccate a queste discipline rappresenta una sfida fondamentale per il miglioramento dell’efficacia dell’istruzione e per l’acquisizione di competenze vitali per gli studenti.

COME

The “Green schools of Lucca” project is presented as part of the “ Experimental program of interventions for adaptation to climate change in urban areas ” by the Municipal Administration of the City of Lucca, and developed by the CREA association Centro Ricerche EtnoAntropologica APS , in agreement regarding interventions in the classes of the 7 comprehensive schools included in the project. The complexes of the 7 comprehensive schools are located in both urban and rural areas.

OUTPUT ATTESO

The project offers the opportunity to develop, with a cooperative and intergenerational line of intervention achieved through Service-learning, the production of shared knowledge such as:

  • elaboration of maps of the environment that surrounds them, together developing a more aware interpretation of human-plant relations.
  • collection of oral sources and iconographic material aimed at connoting the mapping of symbolic meanings linked to individual and collective imaginaries.
  • collection of video and photographic material to be used for the future dissemination of the project and to raise citizens’ awareness on the topic of green management, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change
